My daughter spent her hard earned money to buy me some expensive tinted moisturizer that helps to cover my ugly rosacea. She knew I had been wishing I could afford it, but my husband had been out of work since retiring from the navy, so I couldn’t justify the splurge. It was such a thoughtful gift!

I spent sometime in a nursing home for health reasons, my daughter, who is the most important person in my life was having many issues with her car. For two weeks she had no transportation so couldn’t come visit me. One of the CNAs there found out and drove 20 miles, each way, 3 times a week to bring her to me until the car was fixed. Because of her I got to see my daughter and Grandson. The same CNA, knowing I had no money and was depressed because I couldn’t buy my Grandson an Easter basket, went and made him one. Little cars, candy and a stuffed bunny. She made me cry. That girl will always be in my life now. Im home, but talk to her all the time.

I was having a particularly bad day after receiving news that a job that I really wanted, applied for, interviewed for, and seemed to have was filled by an existing employee of a company. My husband took our 13 month old to visit his parents, and I had an afternoon to cry, take a bath, read a book, and get my head cleared. By the way, I start a new job today, and I am thrilled.

A friend of mine is staying with us and when I met you grandfather for the first time. I reached out to shake his hand and he gave me money. I insisted that I didn’t need it bc God tells us to help each other, but he firmly insisted that “God told me you need this and that you would know what to do with it” Truely I did need it because I was taking my husband to a doc out of town bc he had injured his knee and was having trouble coming up with the money bc it was unexpected. This gentleman had no way of knowing that I was strugging to figure that out, but God told him, and we were okay. Since then, my husband had his knee surgery and is doing 100% better. GOD IS GOOD!!!!!

I was at my granddaughters school for Grandparents Day.  When I walked into her classroom she got up and in front of everyone in the room and said, “Grandma you are the best Grandma in the world” as she came over and gave me a big hug.  It made me feel so SPECIAL as I was not feeling the greatest and I was hurting, as I fell and broke my pelvis bone in two places  and need to use a cane to walk.  It made me glad that I decided to go.

One summer, I wanted to get a teenager to stay with my son while I worked.  I knew how much I could afford and the mom demanded $300 more than I could afford.  My best friend knew how upset I was that I couldn’t come up with the money.  A few days later I got a cashier’s check for $300 sent anonymously.  Of course, I knew who it came from – but to this day, she has never admitted it came from her.

But there hasn’t been too many acts of kindness coming my way, however, this past winter I helped an elderly woman who was stuck on I-25. Her front driver’s side tire was completely gone! It was about -16 outside and wet…I pulled over to help her and she told me that she was there for 45 minutes and no one bothered to stop. It didn’t take me long to put her spare on her vehicle. When I was done, she said she was afraid she was gonna be late for her doctors appointment and thanks to me she might not be late afterall. I just gave her a hug and told her to drive safe. That was the end of mine and her encounter. I love doing things like that!

There are many acts of kindness daily in our little town. I can’t pick just one. Pay-it-forward at the drive thru mocha stand. And then pass it on. Neighborhoods in search of a lost pet for their neighbor. Search parties really. Door to door coat drives. Once I saw a nice man pay someones grocery tab ( All of it, $100 and some change) at the local market because she was short on cash for the entire amount. Time and time again others that pay someone eles’s check at one of the local restaurants. Sooo many.

A small act of kindness was when my family was in Disney World we were trying to get ice creams and we only had enough money for 4 people and we had 5 with us (because everything is overpriced) and the guy working at the cart said dont worry about it. Its something so small but i think about it sometimes for some reason and it makes me feel like i should do things for more people :)

My husband works all the time, and he knew I needed a companion, so he brought me home a puppy this morning! She is adorable, and shes very verbal, so I named her Gabbie :) I am so thankful, it was perfect timing. I have a new friend :)

My child’s teacher at school knowing that she is special needs has gone out of her wa to make sure she has what she needs for the next class, and that her homeworkgets sent home each and every night. We are so blessed knowing that most teachers will go out of their way to help a child learn.

I have had my coffee paid for by the person in front of me at Starbucks.  I’ve also gone to pay for a meal at a restaurant and it’s been taken care of.

One day last week I was in the grocery store. Somehow I dropped my change purse out of my pocket and a teenage boy picket it up, tapped me on the shoulder and gave it back. I gotta tell you I was impressed. Many people would have pocketed it and walked away. I thanked him and thought to myself “someone raised you right”
