Words Can Hurt Or Heal

I can’t stress enough to parents, teachers, coaches, basically anyone who has any impact in the lives children to communicate with them.  Show that you care.  Ask questions.  Show an interest in their lives.

Bullying is a major worldwide problem.  Is your child secluding themselves from the family or friends?  Don’t allow it!  Spend time with them and just talk.  When I taught Sunday School I was taken back so to speak by the prayer requests of the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd graders in my class.  The burdens that those children had really surprised me.  It showed me that if these little ones could carry such a large load – what about our pre-teens and teens?

What should you do if you find out your child is being bullied?
Get them the critical help they need.  Take them to therapy.  You may want to take them out of their current environment in severe cases.   Kids are cutting themselves and doing all types of unthinkable things because of their mental and physical torment.

Is your child on Facebook or Twitter?
Make sure you have their passwords!!  Bullying is not only a problem at school, it is on social media as well. Check behind them.  Be aware of who they talk to and hang out with.  It is so important that we take the time in our busy lives to nurture our children and guide them.
Go for a walk.  Just talk.  Show you CARE.
